As an artist, I put the main emphasis on the quality of an artistic undertaking. I consider the part of the creative process related to technique to be crucial and determining factor in its value, together with the idea behind the project. For me, concern for detail and calm decision-making, as well as considerate selection
of elements and artistic means are the essence of the creative process and I try
to spend as much time as possible developing them.
I owe any skilful handling of audio-video tools to the knowledge and technical mastery I learned in the studio of Professor Grzegorz Kowalski.
For me, the five-year long period of my studies was a testing ground thanks to which I can define myself as an artist. I know what I want to do, and thanks to the acquired skills, I know how to do it.

Wojciech Tymicki’s degree piece is ambiguous and mysterious. The audience may feel embarrassed by the signals sent by the artist.
In the first place, they cannot be certain whether they are looking at large images of a skilfully arranged interior or a still life, or at stills from some soap opera. They also cannot be certain whether the scene they are being presented with is one where they are supposed to be actors or maybe spectators instead, who cannot
affect the course of events. In other words – whether they find themselves in a film set, or in a cabinet of illusions, where reality blends with magic. They enter the world of the average middle class, a mildly cheesy world, familiar and obvious,
to discover after a while that nothing particularly obvious occurs in this world.
The structure of Wojciech Tymicki’s installation is made up of striking contrasts, such as everyday interiors and objects, and uncommon phenomena, the reality
of an image and the intangibility of an illuminated projection, familiarity and yet
the aesthetic strangeness of kitsch.
